Academics

GDPS follows the curriculum as laid down by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The tenets of Experiential learning, Art Integration, Project Based Learning, Competency Based Learning form the anchor sheet of curricular transactions in the school. An Inclusive Curriculum has been framed by the respective scholastic and co-scholastic teachers in a conducive manner to enhance the learning of children with special needs. Health & Physical Education, Work Education and Life Skills Education are also part of the curriculum at GDPS. Further, the school follows the House System to encourage healthy competitions among students as they compete to give their best in various events.

Physical Education

GDPS offers a well-designed PE curriculum for major sports & games and students are trained by experienced physical educators. Football, Basketball, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Throwball, Tennis and several indoor games (Table Tennis, Chess) are available to facilitate the children’s sport’s needs. To exhibit their physical talents and skills, the school conducts Inter-house matches and sports days every year. The students of GDPS are strong contenders to other schools in the KOVAI SAHODAYA inter school competitions every year.

Activities

  • Extra-Curricular activities like NCC, Scouts and Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls, Band and Clubs motivate the students to become more responsible and to learn experientially.
  • Clubs facilitate leadership qualities, has critical thinking, team spirit, organisational and social skills in students.
  • Club activities include the Eco Club, Literary club, Science Club, Gardening Club, School Band, Music Club, Dance Club, Arts Club, Health and Wellness Club, Quiz Club, and Programming Club.
  • The school also offers competitive exams (like the Olympiads and MUN) to improve the skills and abilities of the students and encourages participation in all competitions conducted by CBSE.

SAARANG – CULTURAL EVENTS

All the students get opportunities to showcase their talents and skills in various cultural events during the cultural fest – SAARANG. The Houses – Diamond, Emerald, Ruby & Sapphire - compete to develop competitive spirit, team spirit, leadership, and many other life skills.
