In July 2016, Esslingen am Neckar (Germany) and Coimbatore (India) signed a City Partnership Agreement. As part of this, four schools in Esslingen, including Georgii Gymnasium, Mörike Gymnasium, Schelztor Gymnasium, and Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium, expressed interest in a student exchange program with Gedee Public School, Coimbatore. From October 22 to November 09, 2018, a group of 12 students (6 boys and 6 girls) and their teachers visited Coimbatore, immersing themselves in culture, education, sports, and art. This visit marked the beginning of a lasting relationship between the two cities.

12 students and 2 teachers from Gedee Public School participated in the German Exchange Programme, visiting Esslingen Am Neckar from April 27 to May 19, 2019. They stayed with host families and explored Esslingen City, Munich, Tripsdrill Amusement Park, Wilhelma Zoo, and more. Highlights included the Mercedes Benz Museum, Experimenta Science Center, and Ulm's tallest church tower. Students savored traditional German food and were impressed by the locals' efficiency and hospitality. The exchange programme offered invaluable learning experiences and lasting memories.
